BLAST FROM THE PAST!

For those of you who are in your late 20's or early 30's, you'll probably remember an animated cartoon from the 80's called RAINBOW BRITE!!!

I loved her!

In my home we would watch the show every Saturday morning, right before dashing off to ballet class.

My sister even had Rainbow Brite bed linens...I was jealous.

Anyway, I was thinking this would be such a great theme for a little girls birthday party.

I know, Dora, Dora, Dora! And don't forget Hannah Montana!

But, why not introduce your kids to something that you used to enjoy as a child?

What was your favourite Saturday morning cartoon?

It's been a while...

Okay, it's official...I'm the worst blogger ever. It's been almost a month since my last posting!

The truth is, I kind of find this hard to do. I'm not entirely sure about what would make someone want to read a blog about baking. Then it struck me! Babies! Everybody loves babies, especially a cute little chubby-cheeked baby with a big smile and the sweetest face you've ever seen!

Here's a picture of one of my best clients! We made the cupcakes for her Christening about 4 years ago. She and her parents have been addicted ever since!

The cupcakes shown here are our most popular flavour, Ying Yang. This variation is made with chocolate cake and vanilla Swiss meringue butter cream. Goes great with a tall glass of cold milk. It's also my personal favourite, along with strawberry fields, sunshine and lemon drops and cloud 9...who am I kidding I love them all!

Anyway, just something fun to look at...I'll be back and blogging like fiend!

Cheers,

Dina

Back to tradition...with a twist!

How about cupcakes {as party favors}?

Traditionally, party favors were edible gifts given to guests as a way of showing gratitude for attending the occasion.
I think it would be nice to pay homage to an earlier time.

For your next event why not send each of your guests home with a delicious treat? Like beautifully packaged cupcakes, brownies or biscotti?

We Have a Blog!!

Today is the first day of the rest of my blog!

This is something I've been meaning to do for years!

This is just our way of letting our clients know what's cookin', (or baking) in our kitchen.

Soon I'll post photos and other fun stuff.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with this question.

Is there anything better than butter, sugar, and meringue?

Have a sweet day!

Dina
